About
Since my childhood, I have always loved art and the creative process. From my parents taking me to art museums in New York City, enjoying art in my travels, and taking art lessons, I was always inspired.
In graduate school, where I received my Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering, I took breaks from my demanding schedule, and created intricate greeting cards in colored pencil for friends and family. Subsequently, I started to receive requests from friends for additional cards. This inspired me to keep creating!
My two great passions (aside for my family), are Math and Art. I was admitted to the High School of Music and Art, the High School of Art and Design, and the prestigious Bronx High School of Science. I chose the Bronx High School of Science, but still engaged in the arts.
At first glance, having a passion for Mathematics and Art seems incongruous. But I have found that both areas complement one another. There is beauty and elegance in Mathematics. Both areas require creativity and critical thinking. Both try to explain or express abstract ideas.
This culminated in the creation of Uniquely Jackie, a repertoire of my ideas, thoughts and creativity-the perfect recipe for my art.
